How we work with statistics

Statistics and follow-ups are something we take very seriously at Victoriakliniken. We believe that without proper follow-up and evaluation of results, you cannot develop and improve.

With the data we collect during follow-ups, we create statistics that give us a clear picture of how our unique approach works.

This statistics helps us increase safety, reduce complications, and achieve better and better results. Our statistics for breast augmentations cover over 2,000 patients who have undergone surgery over a period of two decades.

Statistics for education

Dr. Randquist also uses the statistics to educate other surgeons around the world on how to best perform plastic surgery procedures.

Statistics – Patient

With over 2,000 breast augmentations, we have a very clear picture of our “average patient.” The statistics collected are based on measurements and questions taken before the surgery, as well as during the subsequent follow-up appointments.

As can be seen, about half of our patients have children. Pregnancy and the time spent breastfeeding affect a woman’s body in many ways, which is why this is important knowledge.

A Swedish woman aged 30-39 weighs, on average, just over 67 kg. Victoriakliniken’s patients, therefore, weigh almost 10 kg less than the average. This is an important factor to consider when choosing implants, etc. The chart shows the average weight from 2000-2019.

Statistics – Follow-up

At Victoriakliniken, we offer free follow-up appointments for breast augmentation surgeries at 6 months, 2 years, and 4 years. This is to detect any potential issues as early as possible. During these follow-ups, we also ask questions and take measurements, which form the basis of our comprehensive statistics.

We have very satisfied patients, as shown in this chart. The few patients who are dissatisfied have often been unfortunate enough to experience multiple complications.

In addition to the chart below, it can be noted that 94.7% of our breast patients rate us between 7 and 10.

Have the scars been painful?

Scars can cause pain for quite some time after surgery. However, the majority of our patients experience little to no pain after the stitches are removed.

Statistics – “Soft values”

We collect data on “soft values,” which relate to feelings in different situations, self-image, and how the surgery has changed these aspects. We conduct surveys before and after a breast augmentation. A very common reason for undergoing breast augmentation is the patient’s perception that their breasts do not “match” the rest of their body. Often, it is about feeling that their bust is too small.

I am very pleased with how my breasts match the rest of my body.
