About the Treatment

Belkyra is a customized injectable medication that destroys fat cells under the chin. Most patients will notice a visible improvement in the contour of their jawline after 2-4 treatments. The treatment takes approximately 15 minutes. Belkyra is a non-invasive procedure with long-lasting results and high patient satisfaction.

What is Belkyra?

BELKYRA® is a synthetic, non-human, non-animal form of deoxycholic acid, a molecule that naturally occurs in the body and assists in breaking down and absorbing dietary fat. The deoxycholic acid in BELKYRA® is biologically indistinguishable from endogenous deoxycholic acid, meaning it functions in the body in the same way that the natural version does.

Before Treatment

During a personal consultation with one of our experienced surgeons, we discuss and explain various ways to achieve the best submental (under the chin) results based on the patient’s natural characteristics. The plastic surgeon assesses the appearance of the submental area, how much the skin is sagging, the quality of the patient’s skin, and the amount of excess fat. We explain different techniques and how the procedure is performed.

Not all patients are suitable for Belkyra, and in some cases, your surgeon may instead recommend liposuction and a neck lift.

Technique

BELKYRA® is injected into the area under the chin, causing the destruction and elimination of fat cells. The active ingredient in BELKYRA® is deoxycholic acid, a molecule that is naturally produced in the body and is involved in breaking down and absorbing dietary fat. The fat removed from the treatment area is eliminated through the body’s natural metabolism.

Price

We have chosen not to have a fixed price list as each patient is unique with unique conditions. In addition, it is often only during the consultation that we, together with you, come up with which procedure or procedures are appropriate to achieve a beautiful end result. In addition to the cost of the surgery itself, we include anesthesia, medication, return visits, girdle and bra and in most cases at least one overnight stay after the surgery.

In general, all prices are shown inclusive of VAT, as all procedures and treatments except those performed for medical reasons have been subject to VAT since the beginning of 2014. In cases where the price is shown exclusive of VAT, this is because these procedures are always performed on medical grounds. (Price below includes VAT)
